A celebration of many cultures

If there was a national call-into-work-day, I would wish for it to be tomorrow.  After an exhausting week last week getting students ready for Cultural Day (see pics below) at school, having several hundred people parade through our classrooms, an exhausting weekend out of town, and a baseball game with all the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders...tomorrow would be my ideal time for a national-call-into-work day.  But no such day exists to my knowledge.  I don't know why.  It seems like a perfectly legit day to have.  A day for me to do all of the things I didn't do the whole weekend. I digress...
Friday was wonderful at school.  It was an entire day dedicated to different cultures around the world, show casing student learning, and students demonstrating their knowledge of a new language.  It is aways so awesome to see so many parents and families come to see all the hard work our students have put into it.  My mom even made the trip from out of town to experience her first Cultural Day.  It was great because she brought Kaitlyn along and she got to see what she is in for when she starts kindergarten next year.  (Click here and here if you want to see some past cultural celebrations!)
